Elisabeth Dahlin has been the champion for child rights in Sweden particularly in her role as the ‘Ombudsman for Children’ since 2018. In her recent visit to Viet Nam, she talked to UNICEF about the importance of establishing an Ombudsman in every country.
“There are many good examples and not all of us work in the same way but the fact that this Ombudsman independent role can be the strength of the country,” she stated.
“Particularly in countries where you have a large part of the population being very young, it’s important that children do have good representation. And you get better decisions when children are involved,” added she.
