Preparing for the supply of COVID-19 vaccines

A visual snapshot of the enormous and historic task of procuring and delivering COVID-19 vaccines.

UNICEF is leading efforts to procure and supply doses of COVID-19 vaccines for around 100 countries participating in the COVAX Facility. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is procuring doses on behalf of 10 countries in the Americas.

This infographic outlines some of the key actions UNICEF is undertaking at global and country levels. They are often interlinked, and while some activities have already been completed, others are evolving as work to procure, deliver and rollout COVID-19 vaccines in different country contexts advance with UNICEF and partners’ support.

While these activities are a snapshot of UNICEF’s work, they are undertaken in an environment dependent on strong partnerships to support and overcome many challenges. Key COVAX partners include, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, WHO, CEPI, PAHO, development banks, the private sector and of course the manufacturers that supply vaccines and the governments of COVAX Facility participating countries that will receive them.
