#InnovativeCharity with Visa and Portal Supports UNICEF Inclusive Education Program

  • From December 18, 2017 to January 27, 2018 [1], for each Visa card transaction on the portal, Visa will transfer 1 UAH from its funds to support UNICEF Inclusive Education Program
  • The goal of the Inclusive Education Program is to improve the conditions for access to high-quality pre-school education for children in Ukraine and to make the education system inclusive

December 14, 2017 – UNICEF, Visa and the portal announce the launch of the campaign #InnovativeCharity. For each transaction carried out on the portal with a Visa card from December 18, 2017 to January 27, 2018 inclusive [2], Visa will transfer 1 UAH to support the UNICEF Inclusive Education Program [3].

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of inclusive education for children in Ukraine. The program of the United Nations Children's Fund "Inclusive Education", which will restore or create inclusive rooms in 25 kindergartens in Ukraine, is designed to make quality preschool education accessible for children with disabilities.

Today, most kindergartens in Ukraine are not suitable for children with disabilities. All children need inclusive rooms for the development and upbringing but they are extremely important for children with disabilities. Every child has the right to education and development from the first years of life.

The inclusive education is special because it not only contributes to the better development of children with special educational needs, but also teaches all children to naturally perceive and tolerate human differences.

"Inclusive education underlies the formation of an inclusive society in which, first and foremost, the personality is respected and valued, and everyone has the opportunity to develop according to individual needs, opportunities and interests.

It is very consonant with the values of Visa - respect for individuality, acceptance of different points of view and creation of such conditions in which everyone can freely realize their potential, develop both in personal and professional terms.

Within the framework of the campaign #InnovativeCharity, Visa has already made a charitable donation of 50 thousand US dollars to the UNICEF Inclusive Education Program. From December 18, 2017 to January 27, 2018, every Ukrainian can support this important social project by simply making payments online. I hope that together we can draw public attention to the importance of inclusive education," said Dmytro Krepak, Acting Group Country Manager, CIS&SEE, Visa.

“We welcome Visa and supporting the establishment of inclusive education in Ukraine. With donations gathered thanks to the campaign, UNICEF will make around 25 kindergartens accessible for children with disabilities in different regions of Ukraine. It is every child’s right to develop and learn. And together we can turn disability into #thisability,“ noted Giovanna Barberis, UNICEF Representative in Ukraine.

“, in essence, has always been about freeing customer's time from routine for what is really important in life. It can be family, children, helping others, etc. These way, we see the highest mission of our business activity. It is why we are participating in a joint campaign with Visa, aimed at supporting children with disabilities. We believe that helping those who need it most is another step to a better, more harmonious society,” commented Svyatoslav Коmаhа, CEO, Portmone.

The campaign will run from December 18, 2017, to January 27, 2018.
