In July and August 2020, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the non-governmental organization Practicum will conduct a free training event entitled “How to become an opinion leader in the community” for residents of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts in eastern Ukraine.

The training is intended to educate active citizens to communicate changes and share information about social services in their communities. It will be organised as part of the “SPILNO. Social services for families in communities” project, initiated and implemented by UNICEF with financial support from the Government of Germany and the German Development Bank (KfW).

Residents of 12 communities in Luhansk (Troitska, Novopskovska, Bilovodska, Bilokurakynska and Chmyrivska) and Donetsk (Bakhmutska, Druzhkivska, Mykolaivska, Soledarska, Siverska, Sartanska and Mariupol) oblasts can participate in the two-day training programme.

The organisers will provide all the participants with hotel accommodation, meals, and round-trip travel to the training venue in one of the cities (Mariupol, Severodonetsk or Kramatorsk).

Residents of each community will have training scheduled for different dates: Bakhmutska (6-7 August), Bilovodska (17-18 August), Bilokurakynska (26-27 August), Druzhkivska (31 July - 1 August), Mariupol (20-21 July), Mykolaivska (3-4 August), Novopskovska (20-21 August), Sartanska (23-27 July), Siverska (11-12 August), Soledarska (28-29 July), Troitska (29-30 August) and Chmyrivska (14-15 August).

Already recognized opinion leaders, as well as those who are just planning to become social service ambassadors in their communities, can take part in the training, regardless of their ages or positions.
