Zico is a former striker who came to fame as a player on of the Thailand National Football team, then known as the “Dream Team”. He subsequently became the head coach of the National Team and his team came to be known as “The War Elephants Team”. He has consistently received recognition and public support for his work to bring hope and inspiration to the Thai people and is a role model for a new generation of football players in Thailand. Zico has himself established the Zico Foundation to provide equal opportunities for young people in rural areas of the country to develop football skills.
Zico was born in Khonkaen Province. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Dhurakij Pundit University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Chandrakasem Rajabhat University. He is also the father of three daughters.
Zico is a man who sparks hope and inspiration among children and young people, who gives them courage to follow their dreams. As a Friend of UNICEF, Zico is committed to working with UNICEF in to raise awareness of the challenges facing children, and in particular promoting access to quality education for every child in Thailand.
