Goodwill Ambassador (GWA)
I am proud to be a part of UNICEF. Child and youth development is crucial to our country’s future, and this requires continued efforts and a commitment from all of us.
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors are well-known personalities willing to do their utmost to mobilize support for children around the world among the general public and within their industry. These volunteers demonstrate a high level of commitment to children and to the organization. To date, UNICEF has worked with over 200 Goodwill Ambassadors from different industries, including entertainment, sports and arts, such as David Beckham, Jackie Chan, Shakira, Orlando Bloom, Ewan McGregor, Ricky Martin, Katy Perry and Lionel Messi.
In Thailand, the former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun was appointed as UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador in 1996. He has played an important role in raising awareness on a range of issues facing children. He has also been a driving force in the mobilization of funds that enable UNICEF’s work for children in Thailand and across the world.
Improving the wellbeing of every child in Thailand is a cause that I hold dear to my heart, for I truly believe that children are the future of the nation.
National Ambassadors are prominent individuals from the worlds of art, entertainment, sports, or other fields who play a critical role in raising public awareness on issues affecting children.
Nualphan Lamsam was appointed as UNICEF's National Ambassador for Thailand on September 18, 2023. In this role, Madam Pang will help UNICEF shine a spotlight on the challenges facing children as well. She will also mobilize support to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and excluded children in Thailand and around the world.
Friends of UNICEF
Friends of UNICEF are individuals who are committed to supporting UNICEF’s mission to improve the lives of children everywhere in the world. Friends of UNICEF support UNICEF in raising awareness on many challenges that children are facing such as education, development, health, nutrition and sanitation, and child protection through a variety of activities like field visits and campaigns.
On 15 December 2021, UNICEF Thailand announced three new celebrity supporters, Peck Palitchoke Ayanaputra, Min Pechaya Wattanamontri and BamBam Kunpimook Bhuwakul, as the new Friends of UNICEF for Thailand to help promote children’s rights and well-being
Peck (Palitchoke Ayanaputra), a Thai singer renowned for his beautiful voice, considers himself lucky for being discovered and nurtured as a teenager. Since then, he has brought smiles and joy to audiences nationwide with his talent. Multitalented Peck is also a presenter, model, and song composer, and he firmly believes that he is who he is today thanks to the many opportunities and support of his loved ones.
Min (Pechaya Wattanamontri), a Thai model and actress widely admired for her performances in popular films and television series, recalls being shy and lacking confidence as a young girl. She overcame her shyness thanks to her supportive family and has since showcased her acting talent on screens nationwide. That is why she believes we must do our best to care for every child and nurture their fullest potential.
BamBam (Kunpimook Bhuwakul), now with a worldwide following for his showstopping performances in K-pop boyband GOT7 and as a solo superstar, has always dreamed of becoming a dancer ever since he was a child. His family supported his potential and training since then. Today, the rapper, singer, songwriter and producer is a bright example of the young, talented and driven generation of Thailand.
Vanessa has over 10 years of experience working with children and is knowledgeable about brain and child development.
Vanessa supported UNICEF Thailand in the Best Start campaign to promote early childhood development in 2015. She was appointed as a Friend of UNICEF in 2017 and will help UNICEF promote early childhood development and positive parenting.
