BANGKOK, 19 September 2024, Sabida Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior and Severine Leonardi, UNICEF Deputy Representative for Thailand attended the launch of the Registration and Database System of the Children and Youth Council at the Local Level at S.D. Avenue Hotel, Bangkok. The event was also attended by Rachan Soonhua, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Surapol Charoenphum, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, Ilaria Favero, Chief of Adolescent Development and Participation, UNICEF Thailand, and Nada Binroheem, President of the Children and Youth Council of Thailand.

Designed to promote meaningful participation of children and youth in local governance, this database system, developed by UNICEF Thailand in collaboration with the Department of Local Administration, is an important tool for systematically storing local-level data on Children and Youth Council members and their activities across 7,772 sub-districts. This information is essential for effective policy planning and organizing activities that address the needs of children and youth, while also empowering them to play an active role in community development.
