Kids Takeover Schools to mark World Children’s Day

VELES, 20 November 2017:  Today, the Mayor of Veles - Mr Ace Kocevski, UNICEF Representative - Mr Benjamin Perks, the Deputy Minister of Local Self-Government – Mr. Dejan Pavleski and representatives from the Ministry of Education engaged with children from Primary School Vasil Glavinov in Veles to mark World Children’s Day - a day of action for children, by children.

On this day – the anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Children – children around the world organised take overs to raise their voices in solidarity with the world’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

It was a fun day, with a serious message. In schools across the country, children joined the initiative with  #KidsTakoverSchools activities to create a meaningful dialogue on child rights and issues faced by their generation.
