Child Rights and Participation

National Commission on Child Rights
The Commission is mandated to regulate and coordinate governmental and non-governmental efforts to implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child and is a main partner of UNICEF in bringing national legislation into compliance with the Convention.

Child Reference Groups
These groups assist UNICEF in promoting better understanding of the concept of child participation, enhancing the involvement of children and young people in decision-making on issues and carrying out advocacy functions with the Government and civil society.

United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child
In 2000, the Committee issued "Concluding Observations" on Tajikistan's efforts to adopt legislative and administrative measures related to the rights of children and compliance with related international human rights treaties. This input has served as a planning and monitoring framework for the Government and its partners.
