Mother and Child Health Care

Vision for Tajikistan: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages Increase by 2020 the quality coverage of high-impact, evidence-based health, nutrition and early childhood development interventions that allow children to survive and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

Maternal & Child Health, HIV/AIDS programme component supports advocacy, capacity building, communication and social mobilization for mother and child health related issues in Tajikistan. In addition, it supports the Government’s efforts to manage immunisation services, vaccine supplies and the cold chain; and to generate demand for quality services. Nutrition

Vision for Tajikistan: Increase by 2020 the quality coverage of high-impact, evidence-based health, nutrition and early childhood development interventions that allow children to survive and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

With special attention to the child’s 1000 days, Nutrition programme interventions will focus on promoting good child feeding practices and supporting the institutions of Tajikistan in preventing and managing undernutrition. There is consensus that the damage to physical growth, brain development and formation that occurs during the first 1000 days is extensive and largely irreversible. By focusing on improving nutrition during this critical window of opportunity, much of the serious and irreparable damage caused by hunger and malnutrition can be prevented.(Read more...)
