UNICEF continues to support children and families in Syria as part of its response to the COVID-19 global pandemic. In Deir-ez-Zor city in northeastern Syria, thanks to generous support from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and Canada, UNICEF has distributed over 39,000 soap bars and informative colouring books, supporting families’ hygiene and raising children’s awareness about the precautionary measures against Coronavirus. The supplies are being provided to vulnerable families alongside food baskets provided by the World Food Programme (WFP).
