Thanks to a generous contribution from France, Canada and the Department for International Development (DFID), UNICEF distributed 4,500 winter clothing kits in the city of Ain Issa in the governorate of Raqqa, northeast Syria. Years of violence, displacement and loss of financial resources have left families unable to provide their children’s most basic needs. Distributions of much needed winter clothes have helped children cope with the harsh winter and eased the financial burden on families, amidst increased prices and inflation. Each clothing kit contains a thermal outfit, a winter jacket, a woolen hat, scarf and gloves, as well as winter shoes.
