UNICEF completes last round of winter clothes distribution
600 blankets and 16,000 clothing kits for children aged 0-14, including for 300 new-born babies, across the governorate.

Syria UNICEF completed the last round of winter clothes distribution to vulnerable children in the governorate of Hama, central Syria. The impact of nine years of conflict and displacement combined with inflation and loss of livelihoods was compounded by a harsh winter that left families unable to protect their children against the cold. To ease the financial burden on families and help children cope with dropping temperatures, UNICEF distributed 600 blankets and 16,000 clothing kits for children aged 0-14, including for 300 new-born babies, across the governorate.
Governorate-wide distributions included families displaced from Idlib and living in collective shelters in northern rural Hama as well as those returning to war-ravaged areas amidst a severe lack of services.

“Now, I can send them to school, knowing that they won’t freeze.”
