Mothers and children forced to flee their homes in northeast Syria

At least 160,000 people, nearly 70,000 of them children, have been displaced by the ongoing fighting in northeast Syria.

"We had to flee home because of the attacks. We slept out in the open. We had no mattresses, no blankets or food...we escaped with our children for safety."

At least 160,000 people, nearly 70,000 of them children, have been displaced by the ongoing fighting in northeast Syria.

UNICEF and partners are reaching families in shelters with safe water and health and nutrition needs. But the needs are pressing and continue to grow...

UNICEF calls on all parties in the conflict to protect children across Syria wherever they are.
