Last week, to mark Global Handwashing Day, over 100 UNICEF-supported volunteers engaged children in Hassakeh and Raqqa governorates in northeastern Syria with recreational and educational activities to teach them the importance and best practices of handwashing, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Over 1,500 children and youth and 500 caregivers took part in the different activities in Areesheh and Nowruz camps for internally displaced families, as well as in Hassakeh city.
