About

In Syria, the recent changes since December 2024, present a historic opportunity for positive change, and renewed hope for children, young people, and their families. After 14 years of crisis, the country faces a critical humanitarian situation, with its vital infrastructure on the brink of collapse - impacting children the most, as they continue to bear the heaviest burden.

In this critical moment, UNICEF remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting and supporting Syria’s children, and young people. Over the past 100 days, UNICEF has worked tirelessly to develop an efficient, effective, and principled country programme that is agile, responsive and nationally aligned to support Syria in its path towards recovery, peace and development.

The people of Syria, particularly its children, stand at a historic crossroads. We must collectively seize this moment to support Syria’s recovery and reconstruction to ensure that children’s rights and future remain at the heart of all efforts.
