Pneumonia diagnostic aid devices

Following consultations with industry, partners and academia, UNICEF has developed and published an Acute Respiratory Infection Diagnostic Aid (ARIDA) target product profile (TPP). The TPP is to support  the development of a device for diagnosing pneumonia to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of pneumonia interventions in resource-poor settings. Four categories of needs inform potential product developers on desired device performance, function, stakeholder needs and design without, prescribing specific specifications. UNICEF will launch an Expression of Interest (EOI) during Q2 2015 for a device that meets the TPP within a 12 month period.
