Quality Assurance

© UNICEF/NYHQ2005-2329/Mun

The quality of the goods UNICEF procures for children is of paramount importance to us. UNICEF applies the highest international standards and regulatory frameworks of safety and compliance to all the products we procure and deliver. The UNICEF Supply Division Quality Assurance Centre (QAC), based in Copenhagen, Denmark, supports the procurement process by setting and ensuring quality standards across the supply chain. This team of quality specialists assures the quality of over $2 billion worth of international UNICEF procurement. The team also sets the guidance and standards to support quality assurance in local procurement undertaken by UNICEF offices in the field.

With a consolidated market-driven approach towards only procuring quality products, manufacturers are incentivised to make the investments required to become compliant with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and other guidelines that correspond to government legislation and international standards.
