Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV)

Serious cases of pneumococcal disease affect nearly 14.5 million children under-five years of age a year, killing an estimated 500,000 annually. UNICEF provides a market update for pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) highlighting product availability and supply. PCV supply through UNICEF has been stable and sufficient to meet current demand. From 2020 through 2027, more than one billion doses to support new introductions and existing demand covering the needs of 361 million children remain uncontracted representing sizeable supply opportunities for manufacturers. UNICEF encourages self-financing middle-income countries to make multi-year demand commitments to access more affordable pricing.
