Vaccine Procurement Practitioners Exchange Forum 2017

Every year since 2015, UNICEF Supply Division conveys buyers of vaccines from Middle Income Countries to exchange and learn from each other on how to develop adapted procurement practices that ensure supply to meet national demand for vaccines. In particular, as applicable, countries discuss the experiences related to planning for initial procurement and securing sustainable supply of new vaccines into their national immunization program schedule. Please find a link to an overview of the countries that have participated to the VPPEF.

The Vaccine Procurement Practitioners Exchange Forum (VPPEF) is by definition time-limited, and in order to continue the knowledge sharing and problem solving started during the Forum it was decided to create an online community of practice (i.e. the Vaccine Procurement Practitioners Network). Initially, membership includes all participants of the VPPEF, but with the intention that the community will actively grow over time by developing a strategy to gradually include interested vaccine procurement practitioners from additional countries, as well as other relevant stakeholders and experts.

Themes covered during the VPPEF include:

·        Progress and challenges experienced by countries since previous participation as well as introduction of new countries

·        Presentation of the Vaccine Procurement Practitioner Network (VPPN)

·        Experiences related to the purchasing and sustainable supply of new vaccines for the national immunization schedule

·        Opportunities to meet with vaccine manufacturers

·        Development of an Action Plan to overcome vaccine procurement related issues.

Here you will find an article from the 2017 edition of the VPPEF
