Downloadable files for printing mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) tapes
UNICEF makes available files for printing MUAC tapes locally.
MUAC tapes are used to screen for malnutrition in community and hospital settings. They can effectively screen children in the community and quickly identify those in need of referral for treatment.
There are different types of MUAC tapes available but all are graduated in millimeters. Some are colour coded indicate the nutritional status of a child or adult: green for normal, yellow for moderate malnutrition and red for severe acute malnutrition. The colour codes make them easy for mothers and community health workers to use.
MUAC tapes can be printed locally from a high-quality printer on synthetic paper using the designs in the links below. The samples need to undergo an evaluation before large print runs are done.
MUAC tapes are also available through UNICEF Supply Catalogue.
