Investing in the children of Sudan

Investing in the children of Sudan

UNICEF's life-saving work for children and women in Sudan relies solely upon voluntary contributions - from governments, foundations, the private sector and individual donors.

There are vital needs in all programme areas.

If you live in a country with a UNICEF National Committee, you can contact them directly to discuss making a contribution towards UNICEF's work in Sudan. If you would like more details of major programme funding requirements, please contact us and we will be happy to share current proposals that require significant financial assistance. We are always looking for serious partners willing to make a lasting investment in the survival and development of Sudan's children.

Why every contribution counts?

  • US$1 could vaccinate a Sudanese child against polio.
  • US$ 6.50 could buy an insecticide-treated bednet to protect a family of five against malaria.
  • US$ 65 could buy an emergency kit containing plastic sheeting, hygiene materials, cooking utensils and a mosquito net for a family who has lost its home.
  • US$1,000 could buy enough educational materials for nearly 395,000 children.
  • US$ 5,000 could finance the production and airing of three radio information spots on preventing the risks of diarrhoea and cholera, reaching up to 25,000 people.
  • US$ 10,000 could construct a borehole providing clean water for 250 people for up to 25 years.
