Invitation: Inaugural National Conference on Care and Support for Teaching and Learning

Consolidating our collective efforts

The Inaugural DBE CSTL Conference is being held to:

  • share the Department of Basic Education’s nationally adopted framework for care and support, namely Care and Support for Teaching and Learning, including its vision and purpose; and
  • showcase the range of initiatives currently being implemented in and through schools under the ten priority areas of CSTL to strengthen co-ordination in the sector.

The full programme will be made available to all delegates who register for the conference. The following topics will be covered by national and international speakers during the Plenary Sessions:

  • A global perspective on care and support
  • Care and support in the SADC region
  • Progress on care and support in SA
  • Cash plus care to prevent HIV
  • Quick wins to close the equity gap through pro-poor interventions
  • Social cluster working together to deliver care and support in and through schools

There will be two Parallel Sessions on Day 1 and one Parallel Session on Day 2 focusing on the 10 priority areas of CSTL. Please choose relevant sessions to attend for each of the Parallel Sessions when you register online.

DATE: 12 and 13 June 2018

TIME: 12 June 2018 (09h00 – 17h00) and 13 June 2018 (08h30 – 14h30)

VENUE: Saint George Hotel & Convention Centre, Pretoria, Gauteng

FEES: There are no conference registration fees. Delegates must pay for their own travel and accommodation costs. Refreshments will be provided for the duration of the conference.

IMPORTANT: Only online registration is accepted on or before 18 May 2018.

Registration may close earlier if the number of people that can be accommodated by the venue are reached.
