What we do

Child-sensitive and child-driven programmes help children shape their own development

Progress and challenges

South Africa is a country of great contrast and diversity, where opportunities for children and women to lead healthy, safe and productive lives, vary greatly.

Child and maternal health

By stepping up action to bring cost effective, high impact health and nutrition services to every child and mother, deaths from preventable diseases can be reduced drastically.

Education and adolescent development

When every child has the chance to play and learn, and schools  are safe and supportive, it becomes possible to ensure that all  children fulfill their potential.

Child protection
A strong and comprehensive social and child protection system is being built in support of government and civil society to invest in children’s well-being.

Social policy and advocacy

For a future in which no child is denied his or her basic human rights, children must be placed at the centre of today’s policies and plans.
