UNICEF and National Ambassador Ana Ivanovic Extend Cooperation Agreement

Belgrade, 3 October 2017 - Ana Ivanovic, a UNICEF National Ambassador since 2007, visited UNICEF in Serbia.

During the visit she had the opportunity to meet with Afshan Khan, UNICEF’s Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, with whom she discussed the work UNICEF is doing in Serbia, and the next steps that will be undertaken so that every child in Serbia can achieve his or her potentials.

On this occasion Michel Saint-Lot, UNICEF in Serbia Representative, and Ana Ivanovic, signed an extension of the Cooperation Agreement.

“I am honoured to continue my cooperation with UNICEF in Serbia and to contribute to the realisation of rights for every child. I love children and I know how much love, care and protection is needed for children to grow and be happy. I will support UNICEF's initiatives that focus on violence prevention, education and the empowerment of girls to make choices for themselves - choices that affect their childhoods and their futures,” said Ana Ivanovic.

“It is a privilege to have Ana Ivanovic as a National Ambassador. During our decade-long partnership, Ana has demonstrated her commitment to children and has provided valuable support to UNICEF’s programmes in areas of prevention of violence against children and education, and she has also provided help for children in emergencies. We are delighted to continue our partnership, which will, in the coming period, focus on the protection of children from violence, particularly gender-based violence, and the empowerment of girls to achieve their full potential through education,” said Michel Saint-Lot, UNICEF Representative in Serbia.
