Lazar and his brother Stefan are growing up in a family environment thanks to the dedication of their mother Violeta.

She is a single working mom and has been taking care of her two boys with developmental disabilities since they were born.

“There were times when I felt like giving up, when I thought I had reached my limit, but then the following day would be great”, says Violeta.

That was when she started thinking about her resources and how to make them last longer for the sake of her family.

The flexible fostering service provides support to families with children with disabilities in order to prevent parental exhaustion, reduce social isolation and prevent the sepratation of children from their families and their placement in an institution.

After finding out about this service Violeta accepted their support and now has Severina to help her with her boys.

This program is implemented by relevant ministries and UNICEF in Belgrade, Nis, Kragujevac and Novi Sad and is financially supported by the European Union.
