Belgrade, 21 January 2019 – Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljevic met today with UNICEF Representative in Serbia, Regina De Dominicis, with whom he discussed the modalities of future cooperation between the two institutions.
Both parties agreed that marking 30 years since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which places special emphasis on social inclusion, the protection of the rights and cultural expressions of children, as well as the traditions and cultural values of each nation for the protection and harmonious development of the child, was the first step in cooperation which would include the active involvement of artists in the realization of this anniversary.
The possibility that UNICEF ambassadors in the future would be personalities from the sphere of culture was also considered.
UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
