Hygiene packages for the most vulnerable families in Serbia
Belgrade, March 31, 2020 - In order to support the improvement of hygiene conditions in families with children living in unhygienic settlements, UNICEF has provided 1,700 hygiene packages that will be distributed by the Red Cross of Serbia, along with information material on protection against COVID-19.
Package contents include soaps, shampoo, dishwashing and laundry powder. Another 6,000 packages are in the pipeline.
For the first 1,700 packages, financial support was provided through the GlaxoSmithKline "Together for Better Health" initiative, which is dedicated to improving the health of Roma children in Serbia and the countries of the region.
UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
