Highlights

This interactive teacher’s guide on statistical literacy for reading data with children is intended to adapted for each educator's needs. The timings and ordering of the activities are included as an approximate suggestion to help plan workshops, recommended as a full-day set of activities. The total time required to complete all activities in this guide is about 4 hours and 34 minutes.

The guide uses data from the Fourth Integrated Household and Living Conditions Survey (EICV) and the Fifth Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS) in a methodological adaptation to children’s capacity. This guide is expected to rouse the spirit and data-driven mind of Rwanda’s young population who will steer the country’s future in the era of Sustainable Development Goals.
