Highlights

Population-based demographic and health surveys (DHS) and multiple indicator cluster surveys (MICS) in South Asia show sustained inequity in immunisation. The benefits of vaccines are not reaching the most disadvantaged populations. This study reviews immunisation policies and plans from eight countries in South Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) to determine whether these documents address equity in immunisation.
