About

This report was issued by the Global Network against Food Crises—an international alliance working to address the root causes of extreme hunger—of which UNICEF is a member. The 2020 report provides data on the number of children facing acute food security in countries beset by food crises, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. In addition, the report also provides an analysis of the drivers that are contributing to food crises across the globe, and warns that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children’s nutrition security could be devastating.
