"In an emergency hospital, protective equipment is always welcome, so we thank UNICEF for its support now, near the winter holidays. Wearing protective equipment means protecting both our medical staff and our patients. At the Universitar Hospital hundreds of patients come to Bucharest every day, both to the Emergency Department and to the Integrated Outpatient Clinic and we offer everyone the necessary care in safe conditions ", said Prof. Dr. Pop Corina Silvia, Medical Director of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital.

"I want to thank UNICEF for all the help it has given us during this period. All the staff of the ‘Matei Balș’ Institute needs this protective equipment in order to be able to take care of patients safely. This Christmas present came at a very opportune time, so that we can spend this holiday season in good conditions for both us and our patients ", said the Medical Director of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases" Prof. Dr. Matei Balș ", Dr. Cătălin Apostolescu.

"Through this concrete action, UNICEF provides essential protection materials to support the hardworking professionals at the frontline of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The medical system in Romania has been under maximum pressure in recent months and we are glad that we can contribute, with these materials, to the protection of those who work tirelessly to protect the health of the most vulnerable. At the same time, we support the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination efforts. Let's not forget that vaccines offer the most effective protection, for us and for our loved ones, against the deadly COVID-19 disease ", said Gabriel Vockel, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Romania.
