Romania started to receive refugees as early as Thursday 24, 2022. Until 12 May, 912,090 Ukrainians arrived in Romania, out of which approximately 82,700 were still in the country.
UNICEF in Romania offers support with the help of ”Blue Dot” centres, specially created for refugee children and their families with funding from our donors.

At present, there are seven operational Blue Dot centers in Romania, at the border crossing zone of Sighetu Marmației, Siret, Isaccea, Albița, Huși, and also Brașov and Bucharest (Sector 6).
More Blue Dot centers are expected to be set up soon in collaboration with UNICEF partners. "Blue Dot" are specially support centers designed for refugee children and their families, which will provide the following integrated services:
- child friendly spaces, offering integrated services with focus on the most vulnerable, on family reunification, restoring family links, information and advice desks.
- dedicated mother and baby/toddler spaces, psychosocial, hygiene, health and nutrition first aid.
- basic legal counselling, referral services for cases of violence or health conditions.
- Blankets, warm clothing, health, and recreational kits along with hygiene products and baby food will be available in Blue Dots as well.
Every donation counts and can change the lives of children affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
