South Sudan, 2018: In mid-May, 210 children were formally released from armed groups in a release ceremony held in Pibor. Although close to 600 children have been released from armed forces and groups in the country so far this year, an estimated 19,000 children are still in their ranks. From the Central African Republic to South Sudan, from the Syrian Arab Republic to Afghanistan, attacks on children in conflict have continued unabated during the first four months of the year.
