Pakistan Annual Report 2008
The year 2008 was a tumultuous time in Pakistan’s history. In an interconnected world, crises on a global scale had their fallout on remote villages. A global food crisis badly hit poorer Pakistani households and, inevitably, the burden was cast upon the shoulders of the most vulnerable members of the society: women and children. All, but especially children, are likely to suffer from poorer nutrition, reduced health expenditures, while many families might take children out of school and put them to work.
