For 30 years UNICEF in North Macedonia works for every child
to have the best start in life
and to be protected from preventable diseases,
whoever they are
and wherever they live,
to feel loved
and protected,
in a supportive family-like environment,
to get ready for school,
receive quality education in violence-free, inclusive, and supportive school environment,
...everywhere
and whatever the situation,
to develop curiosity,
build self-confidence,
express opinion on matters that affect their life
…and grow into happy and resilient citizens.
This year UNICEF is marking its 30-year anniversary in North Macedonia. In 1993, UNICEF was one of the first two UN (United Nations) agencies to open an office in the country after it became an independent state - initially providing emergency assistance to refugee children from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Now, together with our partners, UNICEF remains even more committed to continuing to work for every child.
