Highlights

The North  Macedonia Multiple  Indicator  Cluster  Survey  (MICS)  and  the  North  Macedonia  Roma  Settlements  MICS were carried  out  in  2018-2019 by the  State  Statistical  Office,  as  part  of  the  Global  MICS  Programme.

The overarching goal of MICS is to generate detailed, comparable data across a number of topics relevant to children, their rights and their wellbeing. Given the robustness of data and the rigorous methodology, MICS is well placed to address existing gaps, influence policies and programmes developed to benefit the children, mobilize the decision-makers and incentivize debates at a national and local level. Moreover, the survey measures key indicators that allow countries to generate data for use in national development plans and to monitor progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other internationally agreed upon commitments.

Technical  support  was  provided  by  the  United  Nations  Children’s  Fund  (UNICEF),  with  financial  support  by  UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the British Embassy. The  report  contains  detailed information on the survey methodology, and all standard MICS tables. For more information on the Global MICS Programme, please go to mics.unicef.org.
