UNICEF is collaborating with EU and the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA) to secure the services of a credible and competent Civil Engineering Consulting firm to prepare detail designs of cost effective, sustainable and community owned water supply schemes with different technology options ranging from hand pumps boreholes to solar powered motorized systems with reticulation in the selected rural communities and schools in LGAs of 14 project States, while doing so the firm will also build the local capacity of LGA WASH Staffs. Water scheme options will be designed towards addressing specific technological needs of project areas supported by UNICEF interventions.

Scope of Work:

This will involve a review of the existing designs for rural water supply schemes and conduct surveys in selected communities in different geological environments for different technology options which includes hand pump, solar powered motorized boreholes (MBHs) system with limited reticulations, Rain Water Harvesting, School WASH packages.

State RUWASSAs and LGAs will identify communities for water supply schemes based on the criteria including willingness to pay the service charge for operation and maintenance of the facilities. Such schemes will cover more than one community and benefit 2,000 to 5,000 rural populations.

1. Minimum of 5 years of existence and experience in provision of similar services and implementation of similar contracts.

2.  Personnel: office organogram and CVs of key staff with expertise and experience in leading similar research studies with minimum of advanced University degree in Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, Engineering, Urban & Regional Planning, Surveying or any other related technical field, and experienced in leading similar research studies.

3. Experience working with ethnically diverse populations and studies in urban/peri-urban areas are essential.

1.  A cover letter of intent on the company letter headed paper

2.  A copy of certificate of incorporation, and registration.

3.  A copy of the company profile, staff CVs, list organizations to which similar services has been provided and  at least 3 reference letters from clients served in similar area of specialization
