Consultancy:  Review of the National Sanitation Strategy of 2010-2015 (extended to 2018) and development of a new National Sanitation Strategy

UNICEF Namibia in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry through the Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation Coordination (DWSSC) seeks to recruit a consultant to review the implementation of the National Sanitation Strategy of 2010-2015 (extended to 2018) and development of a new National Sanitation Strategy. 

The purpose of this assignment is to:

  • Develop a new 5 year NSS (2019/2020- 2025/2026 which provides practical solutions in both urban and rural contexts to scale up and expand sanitation coverage and to meet set national and international agenda on sanitation. The NSS will include an implementation plan with timelines and a monitoring and evaluation framework. 
  • Examine available and gaps in resources (both human and financial) to operationalize the NSS implementation plan and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of sanitation services. 

Duration of Contract:

  • 80 working days over a period of 4 months

Duration:        364 days               
Reporting to:  Chief of Communication and Human Resources Assistant

This position reports to the Human Resources Assistant, and entails assistance to the HR Unit in Organizational Learning and Development, Staff Well-being and Recruitment, Selection and Placement of Staff and contractors. It also entails administrative assistance to the Communication Unit, and the Office of the Representative.
