Mozambique Analysis of the Social and Economic Sectors

Highlights

The share of 2021 State Budget allocated to Essential Sectors (i.e. Education, Health and Agriculture & Rural Development) is the same as in 2020 and 2019 Budgets. The need to increase Health spending during the Covid-19 pandemic was partly met by reducing spending in the Education sector, rather than by expanding essential sectors vis-à-vis non-essential sectors.
