UNICEF and EU Humanitarian Aid Bring Critical Support to Over 142,000 Children, Parents and Caregivers Amidst Ukraine Refugee Crisis

UNICEF și Uniunea Europeană au oferit sprijin pentru circa 142 000 de copii, părinți și îngrijitori în timpul crizei refugiaților din Ucraina

More than 142 thousand children and their parents or caregivers accessed essential services for a safer life through child protection programmes developed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and its partners during 2022 - 2023, thanks to European Union Humanitarian Aid support. More than two thirds of those who benefitted from these services are girls and women. UNICEF has also scaled up its gender-based violence interventions, with more than 300 females accessing response services. The programmes were implemented amidst the ongoing Ukraine refugee crisis, addressing the risks of trafficking and violence against children.
