RESPONDING TO WINTER CONDITIONS

As winter conditions roll into the Middle East, donations are needed now, more than ever. With an additional 115,000 children at risk, due to the escalation of violence in northeast Syria, we urgently require your support to protect the most vulnerable children from the harsh winter cold.

With your support, UNICEF can help protect children from the cold, through winter clothing kits, blankets, cash to heat their houses and buy essential items, and providing medical supplies. UNICEF plans to reach nearly 1.2 million children with a large winter response. Our priority is to reach the most vulnerable children, including the youngest, displaced, poorest and those living in hard to reach areas. However, funds are needed now, before the cold sets in and puts at risk thousands of children.

WHAT WILL CHILDREN RECEIVE FROM UNICEF FOR WINTER?

Winter clothing kits include jackets, trousers, gloves, hats, shoes, socks, scarves and thermal blankets. UNICEF will also provide families most at risk with cash assistance and vouchers to address the most urgent needs for their children. Funding received will also help us to repair schools during the winter months allowing children to continue accessing education, provide water and sanitation services; and provide medical supplies and services.
