When adults keep killing children, without being held accountable;
When it is children who save other children’s lives
There are no words…
From Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa
“Riham, a five-year-old hero died in Syria after rescuing her baby sister Tuqa from the rubble of their home in northwest Syria. Riham is one of tens of thousands of children who have been killed or disabled for life during nearly nine of the bloodiest years in recent history; several hundred children in northwest Syria were killed in recent weeks alone. Attacks on basic services including hospitals and schools continue.
The war of adults on children in Syria goes on unabated, with the world watching, shamelessly!
In the name of Riham and millions of children in Syria, stop the attacks, protect children and prevent further carnage in Syria”.
