WHAT:   As world leaders gather at the United Nations for the UN post-2015 Summit and the 70th General Assembly the We the Peoples Hub is a dynamic space intended to help bring them together with their constituents, especially the children and youth of the world, who will be carrying out the new agenda.

WHEN:   Daily, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EDT; 22 September – 3 October 2015.
[Please note the space is subject to closure due to special events.]
WHERE: UN Headquarters Visitor’s Entrance, First Avenue at 46th Street, United Nations, NY.
[NB: UN pass/accreditation/special events pass required]

WHOUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, UNDP Administrator Helen Clark, UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake, and other dignitaries and guests including UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors will visit the Hub this week.

WHY: For the past three years, over 8 million people, including youth, have participated in global consultations to define the new Global Sustainable Development (SDG) Agenda. The Hub will feature a multi-media exhibition of innovative and interactive data-visualizations on the post-2015 agenda and allow attendees to try out new participatory tools for monitoring the new agenda.

Events/interactive exhibitions include:
• Virtual reality films featuring life in a refugee camp and through the eyes of an Ebola survivor
• A portal/live link to speak directly to children around the world
• A live-link, interactive touch screens and live events to display UNDP’s global reach to eliminate poverty.
• A live Facebook Q&A on Tuesday, 22 September at 9:00 a.m. EDT with UNDP Administrator Helen Clark on how the new SDGs can be successful.

AND… From 24 - 28 September, UNICEF’s content studio will:
• Host a media studio – a safe space for young people to interview and be interviewed on their concerns, hopes, and opinions about the SDGs.
• Facilitate live social media exchanges, and track real-time child-relevant online conversations at the General Assembly.
