Wednesday, 10 June 2009, 2:00 p.m.

Since 2006 UNICEF and FC Barcelona have teamed up to work for children in the developing world whose childhoods are a struggle of poverty and disease.

The photo exhibition portrays the impact of HIV and AIDS in Swaziland, where FCB has directed a good part of its funding to UNICEF.
FCB has agreed to commit €1.5 million per year to UNICEF for five years from 2006 to support integrated UNICEF programs for children affected by HIV/AIDS. In the past, FCB has funded programs to support orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS in Swaziland, Angola and Malawi. This year, FCB has committed funds to support programs in Malawi and Swaziland as well as a contribution to the HIV/AIDS funding for East and Southern Africa.

The 2009 Champions League winners wear the UNICEF logo emblazoned on their kits in a show of solidarity for the children of the world.
