UNICEF to call for aid to Iraqi children

Press Conferences in UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva to discuss critical aid needs for the children of Iraq

Daniel Toole will speak to the press following the noon briefing at the UN Secretariat in the Press Briefing Room 226 and Roger Wright address the Geneva press corps in Salle de Presse 1 at the Palais de Nations, Geneva

Wednesday, 23 May 2007 –  3:00 p.m. in Geneva and 12:30 p.m. EST following the SG’s Noon Briefing in New York

The war is having a tremendous effect on millions of children in Iraq and those forced to flee their homes, their cities and their country.  UNICEF is seeking to ensure that the millions of children directly affected by the conflict receive essential services including clean water and sanitation, immunization against potentially deadly diseases and the possibility of continuing their education.
