Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess of Luxembourg named ‘Eminent Advocate for Children’ by UNICEF in a signing ceremony.

Why:     
The Grand Duchess is a well-known advocate for children through her own foundation and her position as Patron of the Luxembourg National Committee for UNICEF.  In those capacities she has traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal and Laos heightening awareness around the issues of child soldiers, children affected by HIV/AIDS and commercial sexual exploitation of children.  As a UNICEF Eminent Advocate for Children, Her Royal Highness will focus particularly on children affected by AIDS and children whose lives have been impacted by conflict.

 The title of Eminent Advocate for Children is conferred by UNICEF upon high profile personalities who are already working on behalf of children in a particular area.
