Carla Haddad Mardini assumed the post of Director, Public Partnerships Division in January 2018. She coordinates the organization’s public resource mobilization and its work with governments on multi-lateral affairs.

Prior to joining UNICEF, she was the Head of Resource Mobilization at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) headquartered in Geneva, where she was in charge of donor relations, government affairs and fundraising. She had previously served the ICRC in various positions, including as chief spokesperson and head of the Public Communication Division. She also held several positions in the Middle East and Africa, serving in Kurdistan and Baghdad in Iraq, and also in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Ethiopia.

Ms Mardini holds a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, a Master's Degree in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College in the United States, as well as a second Master's Degree in International Relations focusing on international mediation and conflict resolution from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in the United States.

She is a Lebanese-Swiss national and is fluent in Arabic, French and English. She is married and has two young daughters.
