The Global Handwashing Day is celebrated every year on 15 October. The main purpose of marking GHD, an initiative led by the Global Handwashing Partnership, is to create awareness around the benefits of handwashing with soap. The importance of proper handwashing has not been more crucial than right now with the global COVID-19 pandemic still looming in the horizon putting the lives of children and families at risk.
