SBCC Strategy on the First 1000 Days of Life

Highlights

The Maldives ‘First 1000-Days of Life SBCC Strategy’ was informed by contextual situation analyses, comprising a review of available literature and a rapid contextual assessment (utilizing key informant interviews and focus group discussions) conducted during November to December 2017. 

A summary of the findings is presented in the assessment report. The potential contributors to malnutrition are presented within the format of the UNICEF Conceptual Framework of the Determinants of Malnutrition.This is followed by a section on the potential enablers or opportunities to utilize in the SBCC to improve maternal and infant and young child feeding and caring practice.
